JOHOR BAHRU: DAP Women’s Chief Teo Nie Ching has been elected as the Chairperson of Johor DAP for the 2024/2027 term, replacing Liew Chin Tong, who has held the position since 2014.
DAP Johor announced today that Teo, who is also the Deputy Minister of Communications, received the third-highest number of votes, totaling 692, in the election decided at the DAP Johor Ordinary Convention held here today.
Kluang MP Wong Shu Qi, who garnered 606 votes, has been appointed as the Deputy Chairperson of the state DAP, while Penggaram State Assemblyman (ADUN) Gan Peck Cheng, with 601 votes, was elected as the Vice Chairperson of the state DAP.
Sheikh Umar Bagharib Ali, with 567 votes, remains as the Vice Chairperson of Johor DAP. Stulang ADUN Andrew Chen Kah Eng (717) has been appointed as the Secretary of the state DAP, while Iskandar Puteri Member of Parliament’s Special Officer Ng Siam Luang, who received the highest votes (764), has been selected as the Assistant Secretary of the State DAP.
Jementah ADUN Ng Kor Sim, who received 623 votes, has been appointed as the Treasurer of Johor DAP, and Mengkibol ADUN Chew Chong Sin, who garnered 599 votes, has been chosen as the Assistant Treasurer of the state DAP.
Johor Jaya ADUN Liow Cai Tung has been appointed as the Organization Secretary of Johor DAP. DAP members Boon Sin Wei and Kartiyaini Jeyapalan have each been appointed as Assistant Organization Secretaries of the state DAP, while Senai ADUN Wong Bor Yang serves as the Publicity Secretary, and DAP member Yong Hui Yi is the Assistant Publicity Secretary of the state DAP. Tee Boon Tsong has been designated as the Political Education Director of the state DAP.
The new committee also includes Liew, who is the Deputy Secretary-General of DAP and the MP for Iskandar Puteri, Labis MP Pang Hock Liong, Skudai ADUN Marina Ibrahim, Bentayan ADUN Ng Yak Howe, and DAP members Shazwan Zdainal Abidin and Dr. A. Ruban.
