JOHOR BAHRU: Former Real Madrid star Jese Rodriguez has signed a contract with Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT), according to a video posted on the Johor Southern Tigers’ Facebook page today.
Rodriguez, 31, from Spain, previously played alongside Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid and has played for several major clubs and in top divisions. In addition to Real Madrid, Rodriguez has also played for Paris St Germain, Sampdoria, Stoke City, and Real Betis; however, he reportedly did not join any club after leaving the Brazilian club Coritiba in January.
“The two-time UEFA Champions League winner is now with the JDT family. Welcome to the champions’ arena,” the post stated.
JDT has previously signed several new players, including Jorge Obregon, Enzo Lombardo, Iker Undabarrena, and Eddy Israfilov, who made their debut in the Malaysian League.
