Team Malaysia achieved outstanding success at the ICU World Cup in Korea, with the Junior Team claiming the gold medal and the Senior Team earning a well-deserved silver. Both teams showcased exceptional talent, resilience, and determination, overcoming significant challenges to make their mark on the international stage.

The Junior Team, consisting of 19 athletes aged 15-19, delivered a flawless routine that secured first place, beating Wuhan Cogdel Cranleigh High School from China. Meanwhile, the Senior Team, comprising 20 athletes aged 19-34, impressed with a strong performance to clinch second place, narrowly behind Chinese Taipei.

These accomplishments were even more remarkable given the team’s struggles with illness and injuries, which required last-minute adjustments to their routines. Despite these setbacks, the athletes demonstrated perseverance and teamwork, earning Malaysia recognition and respect in the global cheerleading community.

Lim Chin Hau, President of the Cheerleading Association and Register of Malaysia (CHARM), expressed gratitude for the unwavering support behind the team’s success:

“These victories would not have been possible without the dedication of our athletes, coaches, and the incredible support from our sponsors. We are truly grateful to our sponsors for their generosity and belief in Team Malaysia, as well as to the parents and supporters who stood by us every step of the way.”

This achievement at the ICU World Cup marks a proud moment for Malaysia, highlighting the nation’s growing prominence in international cheerleading. The Junior Team’s triumph and the Senior Team’s resilience stand as a testament to their hard work and the invaluable backing of their supporters.
