
Tengku Arif Bendahara Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Ri’ayatuddin Shah married Tengku Natasya Puteri Tengku Adnan in a royal ceremony held at Balai Mahkota, Istana Abdulaziz at 8:50 p.m. on Thursday. Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Tengku Ampuan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, who were dressed in green, witnessed the solemnisation ceremony alongside their children.
Also present were Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, the Pahang Crown Prince and groom’s older brother, and other members of the royal family. Among the prominent guests were Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail and Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz. The bride’s father, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor conducted the solemnisation ceremony.
After the ceremony, the groom performed a non-obligatory prayer before presenting the dowry, a copy of the Quran to Tengku Natasya, who was seated on the dais. The couple exchanged rings and the traditional merenjis ceremony followed with Sultan Abdullah, Tunku Azizah and Tengku Hassanal sprinkling rose water on the bride and groom.
Tengku Adnan and his wife, Datin Seri Anggraini Sentiyaki also performed the sprinkling ritual. Tunku Azizah was visibly moved during the ceremony, embracing her son with emotion. The wedding celebrations will continue with a majlis berinai (henna night) on Friday, followed by a grand reception on Sunday at 8 p.m.
These events will be broadcast on large screens at Kuantan City field and Dataran Muzium Diraja in Pekan, allowing the public to join in the celebration.
