Israel claims its forces have killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in the Gaza Strip. Sinwar, who took over leadership after Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated by Israel in July, has not been publicly addressed by Hamas following the reports.

In Gaza, at least 10 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli strike on the Maghazi refugee camp, following an earlier attack that killed at least 28 people, including children, at a UN shelter in Jabalia, northern Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that “this is not the end of the war in Gaza,” while confirming Sinwar’s alleged killing.

In southern Lebanon, five Israeli soldiers have been killed and nine others seriously injured during combat in both Lebanon and Gaza.

Since October 7, 2023, Israeli attacks on Gaza have resulted in the deaths of at least 42,438 people and injuries to 99,246. Meanwhile, 1,139 people were killed in Hamas’s attacks on Israel on October 7, with more than 200 taken captive.
